It's not just me

As James has come to learn, I come as a package deal. You get me and my family. I always thought we were a close family but since we lost Nanny H, our immediate family unit has become closer than ever. I feel that I have a responsibility towards them, to look out for them, as they look out for me.

My Sister and I spend evenings and weekends with Grandad while my parents spend time with their friends or with each other. We feel that it's important for our parents to have some time that's just for them, so that they can still enjoy a life alongside caring for Grandad.

It's quality time for them, but it also gives us some quality time with Grandad. I feel the same way about the time I spend with Nanny S.

I don't think hanging out with older people was one of James' favourite things to do before he met me. It still isn't. But, he sometimes joins me and my Grandparents on our trips out. He understands    that spending time with them is important to me and he supports that, even when life gets busy.
